Burwood Girls’ High School is a girls’ public high school in New South Wales. The school is not only committed to the success of academic work, but also committed to guiding students’ overall academic, social and emotional development, and will cultivate to meet challenges, be ethical and competent. Young women who are eloquent, confident, and talented. The school focuses on language and technology learning, has a set of fair and just school disciplines, has excellent student welfare programs, and students have the freedom to choose their favorite minor subjects.
Burwood Girl’s High schol community embraces the school motto 'Not for ourselves alone', and continues to celebrate cultural diversity, and value our contribution to others less fortunate. Students sponsor schools overseas as part of the ‘Hands Across the Ocean’ program.
This year our focus is on the development of middle school initiatives as well as maintaining the school environment. Students and staff continue to work well as a team to ensure positive outcomes for all students.
Geographical environment:
The school is located in Croydon, west of Sydney's central area, 13 kilometers from the center of Sydney. There are large commercial shopping centers near the school, and life is convenient; there are many international students from non-English speaking countries with diverse cultures and colorful student life.

Office hours: 8:00am-4:00pm.
Parent payments: 8:30am-2:00pm each school day, except Friday recess and last day of term.
Croydon is an inner-west suburb of Sydney, approximately 10km from the CBD. The closest railway station is Burwood, approximately 10-15 minutes walk. There are bus stops adjacent to the school.
School facilities:
Computer laboratory; automated library; science laboratory; state-of-the-art gymnasium; music room; three theater and dance studios; fully operational auditorium and upgraded lighting and sound facilities; graphic arts center and photography and darkroom facilities, etc.

When students wear a school uniform, they feel included in our school community.
Students, teachers, parents and carers, as well as members of our local community helped develop our school uniform to make sure it:

- includes items that are affordable, comfortable and made from easy-care and easy-wear fabrics
- is appropriate for the full range of school activities

Canteen
All canteens in NSW public schools must meet certain requirements. These include providing more healthy food and drink options – to make the healthy choice an easy choice for students. Visit Healthy school canteens to learn more.
Our canteen is well stocked with a variety of foods suitable for both summer and winter. All students are encouraged to pre-order lunches before school or at recess. This ensures that they have their lunches ready without the need to wait for it to be made up at lunch time.
The canteen is generally open from 8 am until 2 pm.

School mini-bus
Burwood GHS has its own 19 seat mini-bus, equipped with a wheelchair lift. The mini-bus is used for excursions and taking small groups of students to attend or perform at community events. The mini-bus is not available to hire.
Parents are welcome to volunteer to help with driving or maintaining the mini-bus. Please talk to the principal.
