The school is located in the urban area with convenient transportation. It is a comprehensive middle school with co-education. The school is unique in that it is the only public school in New South Wales that provides high-quality visual arts and design education. The school provides a rich, diverse and comprehensive visual art and design projects, as well as other traditional courses and opportunities to participate in inter-school and intra-school sports activities. Students have the opportunity to use digital and traditional media to learn visual art and design projects they are interested in through various classroom and extracurricular activities.

Geographical environment:

Dulwich Middle School is close to the shopping mall of Dulwich Hill, about 5 kilometers away from Sydney. It is an active and international inner city area that integrates multiculturalism. The middle school is close to many higher education institutions, such as the University of Sydney, University of Technology Sydney, National Arts School, Academy of Fine Arts, Enmore School of Design and Sydney Institute of Technology and Continuing Education.
